Privacy Policy
How we handle your data.
This policy explains what data Fraime.it collects, why, and how we protect it.
Effective March 31, 2026.
1. Who we are
Fraime.it is operated by Raphaël Terrier, auto-entrepreneur, SIRET 49027985800057, based in France (“we”, “us”, or “Fraime.it”). We are the data controller responsible for your personal data under this Privacy Policy.
For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us at contact@fraime.it.
2. What data we collect
Data stored locally on your device
- Recordings and project files: screen recordings, optional microphone or system audio, optional webcam footage, and editing metadata saved by the macOS app in local Fraime project packages on your Mac by default.
- Exports: rendered videos you create with Fraime are generated locally on your device unless you choose to share them elsewhere.
- Transcription inputs: subtitle transcription is designed to run on-device. Model files may be downloaded over the network when needed, but your source media is not uploaded by default for transcription.
Data you provide directly
- Email address: when you purchase a license, contact us, or use billing-related customer flows.
- License key and activation details: when you activate, validate, or restore a Fraime.it license.
- Payment information: processed by Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record). We do not store your full credit card number or payment credentials.
- Support correspondence: when you contact us by email or otherwise request support.
Data collected automatically or when you use connected features
- Device identifier: a locally generated device ID used to enforce free trial limits, support licensing, and associate app analytics events.
- App and device details: app version, and for license activation, your device name and related activation status details.
- Usage analytics and diagnostics: app and website events, feature usage, and error data collected through PostHog. Depending on the flow, this may include device identifiers, event metadata, and website request details such as referrer, user agent, or IP-derived identifiers used for download analytics.
- Server and hosting logs: IP address, browser type, request metadata, and similar operational logs processed by our hosting providers.
- AI feature inputs: if you use AI-assisted timeline features, we receive your prompt, recent conversation context, and limited timeline context needed to generate a response.
3. How we use your data
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the Service: including delivering the website and app, processing license activations, validating entitlements, and enforcing trial limits.
- To power optional connected features: including AI-assisted editing requests, billing flows, download delivery, and restore flows.
- To improve the product: understanding usage patterns, diagnosing errors, preventing abuse, and prioritizing features.
- To process payments: via Lemon Squeezy, which handles checkout, invoicing, tax, and subscription management on our behalf.
- To communicate with you: responding to support requests, purchase questions, and transactional matters related to your license or subscription.
- To comply with legal obligations: including tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance requirements.
4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the Service you request or purchase, including licensing, trial management, billing, downloads, and AI responses that you actively request.
- Legitimate interests: analytics, product improvement, service security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, provided these interests do not override your data protection rights.
- Legal obligation: where we are required to retain or disclose data for tax, accounting, regulatory, or law-enforcement reasons.
- Consent: where required by law for specific processing activities. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the applicable legal basis.
5. Third-party services
We share data with the following third-party processors or service providers, each of which has its own privacy documentation:
- Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC): merchant of record for payments, subscriptions, tax handling, invoicing, and related customer billing flows. It receives billing and transaction data needed to process your purchase. Privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
- PostHog (PostHog, Inc.): product analytics and error tracking. It may receive device identifiers, app or website event data, error data, and certain website request details used for download analytics. Privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy.
- Render (Render Services, Inc.): hosting provider for the Fraime.it website, API, and download infrastructure. It processes operational request data such as IP addresses, logs, and API traffic. Privacy policy: render.com/privacy.
- Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC): powers AI-assisted timeline features when you choose to use them. It receives the prompt, recent conversation text, and limited timeline context sent to generate the requested response. Privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We do not upload your raw recordings or exported videos to our servers by default as part of normal local recording and export workflows.
6. Cookies and tracking
Our website analytics are configured to avoid analytics cookies or local storage for PostHog. We use a first-party proxy path for analytics collection rather than sending browser traffic directly to a third-party analytics domain.
Some third-party billing or checkout flows, such as Lemon Squeezy, may use their own cookies or similar technologies when you open or complete those flows. Those technologies are governed by the relevant third party’s policies.
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If we introduce new non-essential tracking technologies that require consent, we will update this page and any required consent flows.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- License and trial data: for the duration of your license or trial and for a reasonable period afterward to support restore flows, fraud prevention, and record-keeping.
- Payment and transaction records: as required by tax and accounting law, typically managed primarily by Lemon Squeezy.
- Analytics and diagnostic data: according to our vendor retention settings and operational needs, typically for a limited period such as up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed for security or legal reasons.
- Support correspondence: for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward.
- AI request data: processed to provide the feature you requested and retained only as needed for operations, security, debugging, and vendor processing terms.
When data is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or anonymize it where reasonably possible.
8. International data transfers
Some of our providers operate internationally. For example, our website and API infrastructure may involve processing in the United States, and certain vendors such as Lemon Squeezy and Anthropic are US-based companies.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards made available by the relevant provider, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or participation in recognized transfer frameworks where applicable.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing.
- Restriction: ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@fraime.it. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
If you believe we have not adequately addressed your concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Children’s privacy
Fraime.it is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@fraime.it and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where practicable, provide additional notice such as email or in-app notice.
Your continued use of Fraime.it after the updated policy takes effect means the updated Privacy Policy will apply going forward.
